Domes ‧ day Book, The BrE AmE ( also The Doomsday Book ) /ˈduːmzdeɪ ˌbʊk/
a record of all the lands of England, showing their size, value, ownership etc, made in 1086 on the orders of William the Conqueror. The Domesday Book has been very valuable in the study of English history.
