Process going on post-Enron by which companies are publicly purging their balance sheets of previously unreported items which might scare investors if they found out by accident or through the press and lead to their share price plummeting. Also known as balance sheet detox. Example: Did you see that exceptional charge on the profits of XYZ announced last week? Talk about company detox.
