INSTREAM USE

Typically non-consumptive uses of water that do not require diversion from its natural watercourse (e.g., fish and other aquatic life, recreation, navigation, esthetics, and scenic enjoyment). Hydroelectric power production water use is also considered a non-consumptive, but may require temporary diversion from the natural stream flow. Also referred to as In-Channel Use, Nonwithdrawal Use, or Instream Flow.
