SECONDARY CURRENT DISTRIBUTION

Meaning of SECONDARY CURRENT DISTRIBUTION in English

"A current distribution that is controlled by the resistivity of the solution (see primary current distribution) and the charge-transfer resistance of the electrode reaction occurring on the working electrode. That is, a current distribution taking into effect the activation overpotential. A large charge-transfer resistance (that is, a slow reaction), compared to the solution resistance, tends to make the current distribution more uniform. This still ignores the effect of the concentration overpotential, see tertiary current distribution. "
