In 1982, Dr. Charles Geschke and Dr. John Warnock founded Adobe Systems because they believed that computers should allow people to express themselves in more imaginative and meaningful ways than were possible at the time. With that goal in mind, the company developed Adobe PostScript, a powerful page description language that enabled printers and other imaging devices to print graphics and type that rivaled the quality of existing phototypesetting devices. Today Geschke is President of Adobe Systems Inc.
