QUEEN’S BENCH


Meaning of QUEEN’S BENCH in English

( also the Queen’s Bench Division )

one of the three divisions of the High Court of Justice in Wales. When a king is ruling it is called the King’s Bench (Division) . Its head was formerly the king or queen, but today it is the Lord Chief Justice . It deals mainly with civil cases, e.g. ones in which money is claimed because of loss or damage, but it may also deal with appeals in criminal cases.
